I had a UA ticket connecting from LH to UA in MUC with MUC-EWR on a BF upgrade with miles. Arriving in MUC I saw the UA flight was going to be 5 hours late. A LH agent reticketed me MUC-VIE-EWR on OS in C on both segments.

Can *A agents see what kind of upgrade you have and this one just saw Business seating? Or was this a Europe-thing with the flight originating on LH and UA required to pay another airline to reaccommodate me in the same class?
