My final destination is Hamburg. There are four to five IST-HAM flights a day. Most long-haul flights are only one or two a day. If they reschedule my long-haul flights, all I want for TK to consider is just to get on a flight so that the wait is not insanely long. I know it is not TK's fault. How much compensation or assistance do airlines give to their passengers if the flight gets rescheduled 8 hours later? One meal and one night accommodation? Or nothing at all?

I know the risks of booking separate tickets but I don't have many choices. Since my home airport is not big, I rarely have the option to book a single ticket to an airport that is not a primary hub. Anyway, the TK flights I have are not costly, but I still do not want my money or time go to waste over a problem caused primarily by another airline. A request to change to a more convenient time from a partner airline is not a big thing to ask for. Yes, I have non refundable connecting flight but some passengers can also have non refundable hotel reservations. Cancellations by airlines cost passengers something that passengers might not be able to recover. In my case, this is OZ's problem rather than TK's but there will be more cases similar to mine as OZ, CZ, BR, SQ all have flight reductions to IST, with BR pretty much suspending all flights this year.
