Possibly a lack of competition is leading to them sending subpar equipment? I doubt there is much cross shopping between China Eastern and BA customers, unlike HKG, SIN, TYO and other nearby destinations.
Virgin are flying this route using a 787-9, I would have thought this is strong competition for BA & I know which would be my preferred carrier.
I realise there are loads of you who would not go anywhere near the 'dark side', but it is an option.
