Plans Change Pass may be an evolving product.

I could swear that a couple weeks ago I was able to change a reservation to exactly the same flight (different seat selection was required) and capture the fare decrease.

Today I saw lower fares on 3 flights I had booked, all with PCP. I tried several times to change to the same flight but the new fare kept showing up as the same as the old fare.

I gave up and made an actual date change to get the lower fare. Then I changed the date back to the original, reclaiming the original seat selection. This worked fine, and I have money in the travel bank. It seems odd to force us to take this extra step just to capture a fare decrease.

As I noted at the start of this thread, the PCP refared both legs when I only changed one leg. I wonder if VX has fixed that problem by freezing the fare on unchanged legs. @:-) That would explain the behavior I saw today. In that case, I would have to call this change very customer-friendly, fixing a big problem while requiring a workaround for a small problem.

Does anyone here want to research this PCP behavior?
