The maximum occupancy is just that, the maximum that can occupy the room - the number of beds in a room is normally described on a room type . What has the hotel said regarding your request?

That it is a moderately large suite does not mean that there are going to be multiple beds. A 2 bedroomed suite is one that should be sure to have at least 2 beds
