I am not familiar with beach resorts in most of the locations you mentioned, but as far as walkable areas near a beach, I like Miami Beach. You can get to plenty of restaurants without a car. The South Beach Ritz and the EDITION are both pretty nice, though the Ritz is closer to a lot of the restaurants and shopping.
