I worked in Koreatown from late 1984 to late 1995. Things have changed so much that I don't recognize one name in the article.

There are two famous non-Korean restaurants in that area. El Cholo which is one of the oldest restaurants (Mexican or otherwise) in LA, and Taylors Prime Steaks.

Taylors is an institution, very old school (red leatherette booths), strong booze, and a no apology high cholestoral menu. Steaks are very good, with really modest prices.
