Highly recommend Cathay if travelling in Y. Had to travel last xmas in a rush and booked with them. Great timings of flights (from London at least) with a 10.30pm-ish arrival in Brisbane and 0.50 departure meaning full days there and a good night sleep on arrival. Went again in June with them and again, an excellent flight. Good food. Comfortable seats (18" wide) and decent IFE. Love HKG as a stopover in comparison to DXB which I hate. Have booked again for this xmas and are my back up for a September trip.

Cathay are also starting flights from Gatwick in September. Outbound is good, but inbound works best into Heathrow. Only 4 flights per week, but its on the new A350.
