Lots of AMEX stuff gives the user 3x points so if CX is 1:1 I would spend SPG points else where.

As I said, I use AM to upgrade CX flights. Only AM can do that. It is a lot easier for me to redeem as a CX DM.

I also convert AMEX points to CX AM, and I also use SPG for points and cash.
