No drinks coupon, did get two bottles of water in room. the furniture was indeed dated but in good condition. Imagine it was only a one level upgrade but was still appreciated.
Shame that the front desk staff can be so variable, must have been different people to be sure as there was a small queue when I arrived and one of the staff even went into the back and asked a third person to come out and help out for a minute which the very kind lady did and was the one that served me later.
Just goes to show that people do make the difference and the soft product is equally as important as the hard one.

Yep, disappointing overall down to this particular experience and because I had expected better.
The experience in the bar reminded me of Bromsgrove and Swindon about five years ago, when staff wandered round amelessly and unmanaged.
The food quality at breakfast was good, but the numerous dirty plates indicates a lack of attention to detail.
A health inspector would have had a field day!
I was surprised as I remember my previous stays being very good.
Had I have had more time I would have flagged the issues to the duty manager, but as it was the same guy as the night before I thought I would have been wasting my time.
