Hats off to the long-haul crews. I had an intra-eu birthday flight and received nothing, my friend travelling with me to HK a few weeks later in CW received a small gift and a card. Incidentally I quite like the idea of CX offering a birthday cake for ~GBP 30 although I was a day too late to pre-order.
