Be warned. Malpensa is one hours drive from down town Milan. It will cost you over $100 in a taxi and thats about as cheap as it gets. Busy times I have known unsuspecting travellers pay over $200.

The shuttle bus is the best way to go and it goes direct to Central Station. There is a stack of hotels if you walk straight ahead of the station and then off to the left street, where the metro steps are.

Stay away from the Century Tower hotel, rip off.

Be aware when exhibitions are on they will bump up your rate in hotels knowing everyhthing is full, even if you have a wrtten confirmation of the rate. I have seen so many arguments over this practise I am amazed a front desk clerk has not been murdered.

Pick pockets are very fast here. When you have luggage to put into a taxi or onto a shuttle bus they will help you and be warned, they will have something off you before you know it.

Another scam is they load the bus with baggage so it goes into the hold of the bus, they leave the doors open. Its not uncommon for a thief to open the doors roadside and take whatever he wants.

I have also seen people get off the bus in Milan central to find there bags have gone.
