Qantas request passport + national ID on trip to Europe?!

I am a European citizen (Schengen) flying to another Schenghen country (Spain) from Australia (CNS ins this case).

For the first time in my life, after a decade of international flying out and from Europe, I have been asked to present my national ID as well.

Not a big deal this time as I had it on my (deep in one of my luggage),

I normale never travel with it, the check in Agent (rather unpleasant) wouldn't let me check in without my being presented my national ID, because the computer "asked" for it.

I am flying in business class back to BCN via MEL and DOH, I had 1kg extra, she absolutely wanted to charge me the extra kg despite being a OWE and having an extra allowance of 20KG, because the computer wouldn't waive the fee, the manager was "nice?" enough to respect the OW rule.

Really disappointed by QF service on the ground lately, hope to have better luck in my next trip with them
