The Citi online interface is designed to trick you into switching to paperless statements. Every so often who you log in, before it takes to your accounts page, it asks if you want to switch to paperless statements, and the big button that I think is labeled something like "Continue" switches you. You have to click the much smaller "no thanks" to not get switched. (And if you just hit Return at the prompt, it may take it as "Continue", which would switch you to paperless statements.)

So if you're not familiar with this prompt and always having to click "no thanks", could it be that you forget to click "no thanks" on one log in?
