I have paid for PE (SIN-FRA-SIN) part of a BNE-FRA trip. Cost me an extra A$900 above Y Flexi Saver. For the long sector I was happy just for extra space and bigger screen. Priority luggage was nice too. Extra SC earn got me VA Gold so nice bonus there.

I would pay for it again but would depend on Y fares.
