There is a differnece between the airline's ticket price and the price you actually pay to a Travel Agent or OTA. In some cases the latter is higher and in some cases the latter is lower (for example because the OTA buys tickets in bulk or has some sort of agreement or just priced the ticket lower than its value and makes profit on other things or all sorts of reasons).
I have this, on the other end of the spectrum, when booking Wizz Air (ULCC) tickets through an OTA. I pay 10-20 euros less than the actual price (meaning you can sometimes fly for virtually free) but the receipt Wizz Air sends me shows the actual ticket price which is higher. This is used for VAT purposes in some countries (one of them being Hungary, judging from the random Hungarian words on the receipt which are completely illegible to me as I do not speak that).
