I'm gold right now via credit card but trying to get up to Diamond on stays. As a gold, I've been upgraded every single time to at least a better room. Most have been executive, with a few jr suites mixed in internationally and 1 domestic. These are all on discounted MVP or travel agent rates. From the sound of this thread I have better upgrade luck than some diamonds.

Anyway the hope for me is that I get more frequent upgrades to suites once I do hit diamond. A lot of my stay are Saturday and Sunday nights when hotels aren't full of business travelers so that probably has a lot to do with it. I have a feeling I'd be SOL most times I try to stay midweek.
