You'd think whilst corporate might go soft on hotels not adding a lounge in some broom clossett, they would take a dim view on removing a lounge at a Hilton.
Wonder if corporate would condone this aruba shenanigans
There are several Hiltons without lounges and some have been closed recently (I'm looking at you, Hilton Disney Springs). You would think that having consistency across the Hilton brand would be important but apparently it isn't.
As for Hilton Aruba, we stayed there in April and were underwhelmed by the hotel in general and by the lounge in particular. I regret to say that no lounge is worse than a bad one, so this is still a step in the wrong direction.
If HACR&C wants to create a Palm Beach Club they should give thought to relocating the lounge, instead of eliminating it. There are far too many Diamonds and Golds who will be disappointed with this decision. The hotel's management should know what the expectations of a franchise are before they sign up.
My episode at this property as a Gold was so poor that I'm okay with it being a "once in a lifetime" experience (i.e. I'm not planning on going back).
