The point value over $600? If you go over $600 you'll have a 1099 for the full amount, not just the part over $600. And you're not able to say "use my Citi checking points up to $600 value, then use Prestige points." That's what I was getting at with how Citi redeems them. The only way to hold off using some of them until 2017 will be to stop redeeming your combined TY points (Prestige + checking) completely once you get close to (but under) $600 in value until the new year.
