The Global Entry interview center at San Fran is all booked up until February. They told me on the phone I can keep checking back to try to reschedule my appointment at an earlier date in case someone cancels their appointment, but that I have to be really "fast" about it. I've checked back over the last past two weeks and have never found any earlier openings.
I don't understand in principle how you can be "fast" about it considering that someone could cancel their appointment at any given time of the day, meaning you would theoretically have an equal chance of finding an open slot no matter what time of the day you log in to check.
Unless anyone is aware that, rather than the calendar updating automatically when someone cancels an appointment, there is a set time each day of the week that they update their calendar with new time slots due to cancelled appointments? Any other tips to try to get a better interview scheduled?
Would appreciate any insight so I can try to get in there before Feb of next year, thanks!

As
AREsq said, keep checking either manually and/or with a plug in/script. If you do a new search every 5 to 10 minutes for the next 48 hours, you are very likely to find something for the next two weeks. SFO is now open 24/7 til 12 Aug 2016 and extended hours thereafter, your chance is excellent. You have to be persistent.
Good luck and let us know your result.
