Luggage not arrived - what compensation?

Arrived today from LAX on BA 268, the jounrey had muitple annoucancies but the final and largest was my bagf not arriving.

Terminal 5 was a complete mess and after finally getting through the very long line for UK/EU citizens to use the e-passport machaines I was hoping my bags would at least have arrived.

No such luck, the carsousl was swamped with bags from mutliple desitnaiton as well as the ones from LAX. Mulitple proiorty taggefd bags inclduding mine arrvied around half walk through the LAX bags started arriving.

Afrer 90 minutes and checking 3 times with the bagagage desk (no BA personal at the cariseol of coruse!) I gave up and compelted the form.

I am a gold card holder travelling on a CW ticket and was very tired (the flght also had a mediacl divesion to Boston so we were very late).

I live in the USA and am visiting the UK for a week and all my clothes/toileteries etc are in the lost bag.

How much can I claim to buy clothes tomroorw? I have a meeting at noon and I would be amzed if by bag arrives in time.

Should I have been given a pre-loaed debit card to buy repelacements with?
