First thing, I ended up telling her

Second - I've been fortunate enough to see some parts of the world (including a good part of europe and scandanavia), but my better half has not.

So Male is nice, but we do also want to do some activities, and she would like to see London. Normally, Male wouldn't be a typical place we would want to go/visit, as we like to be out and about. But we both agree (and now that I've told her) that it seems like paradise to just drop everything for a couple days and not do anything (except snorkel). But after 3.5-4 days of that, we'd probably get a little board.

So I hear your point about spending a third of it traveling. It just seems like a good way to get a bit of both of what we want (she's also pretty excited about the flying, I showed her some videos of the Frankfurt FCT and car rides).

What's going to be most important is that we keep talking and decide on what makes the most sense, which again is easier said then done as this probably won't happen for ~2 years from now.
