Heh... just had an IHG questionnaire come through and one of the questions was the following:

"How interested are you in reaching Lifetime Status within a Hotel Loyalty Program if it required you to earn (and maintain) status for a specified number of years (e.g., 5 or 10)?
Lifetime Status means that you would remain in that tier and be able to enjoy the benefits for life."
