On most other airlines - there isn't. But I read last week on one of the FT threads that for BA, to be safe, one needs to change the FF# prior to OLCI. Even if you change in Lounge, somehow they still credit the old progam.
That is because they didn't update the right field. There is a field for number for status use and one for which program to credit to.
