Ok. Yep. Before you had to call them for SQ, the booking dates were not suitable so they couldn't use them. He rang them. So to use the points it was AirNZ the other option but the evening flight gets into AKL 10.20PM (just checked) and the flight to Chc departs the following morning.
But now there is SQ direct from Chc

He did ask about also Singapore to Tokyo on his points and I said he can try but it might be expensive.
