I flew my very first INternational FC last week LHR-PHX.
I was able to upgrade for 22k Avios a couple days before departure.
It was totally worth it.
I've paid $999 once to upgrade from WT+ to CW PHX-LHR....but if Avios isn't offered I think I am still going to inquire about an UG @ LAX even if it's $999.
(I bought 3 $1600 J tickets PHX-EUROPE also even if I have to pay $999 it is still worth it to me. Lol)
