Can highly recommend Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf in the Madinat Resort. Nicely refurbished rooms in the villas close to the beach and very personalised service. Many choices for good restaurants & bars in the resort or in the other Jumeirah properties around (Burj Al Arab has recently opened a new restaurant on their new leisure pool deck).
Beach is the best among all luxury resorts in Dubai, as it's a natural, private beach with waves and open view (no man made islands in front like at FS, RC or O&O RM).
Only proper alternative for a very good beach resort might be O&O The Palm, IMO.
