Manufactured spend in Continent Europe

Hello,

I was wondering if there was already some information on here about MSing in Europe? I found only something about the UK.

Some reasons why MSing might be much more difficult here in europe are:

1. CCs are in general a much less common way of payment than in the US, generally restricted to rental cars, online purchase and maybe some high-end hotels and restaurants and stuff. Many regular store chains do not accept CCs, and even many supermarkets do not.
2. In places where CCs are accepted, they generally have only Visa and Mastercard. AMEX is very, very rarely accepted.
3. Money orders and cheques are much less common. Most payments are made through bank transfer.
4. Gift cards are much less common. In my own country the most common gift card is the 'VVV-bon' which is almost a form of currency as you can buy virtually anything with it (some companies pay one-off employees in these gift cards to avoid having to pay taxes, haha ). However I have no idea if it could be used for MS. And again buying it with an AMEX CC is probably very hard if at all possible (amex is the only CC tied to an airline program, Flying Blue, in this country. Other countris may have more of course).

Anyone any experiences?
