Individual Property websites conflicting with official Hilton.com sites?

Any of you that have googled for a particular hotel may have found two separate webpages for a property: The "official" HHonors site, as well as a private, property-specific hotel site. I've found that some of these websites have different or conflicting information/benefits listed from the pages linked through Hilton's own site.

Not that I saw much of anything wrong here, but as an example of a hotel having two separate sites, the Marquette in Minneapolis:

http://www.marquettehotel.com/

vs.

http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/min...IHH/index.html

There's little differences, but the hotel has covered themselves with a disclaimer. For instance, parking:

The Hilton website says:
Self parking: $22.00 (Garage Parking)
Valet: $39.00 (Valet Parking)

vs.

The Marquette websites says:
Self Parking
Sunday - Thursday $22.00
Friday and Saturday $17.00
*Prices are subject to change.
Valet Parking
Available 7 days a week
$16.00 - 0 to 6 hours
$24.00 - 6 to 12 hours
$39.00 + tax overnight

After having a minor issue during a stay at a different property, I was told that a website for the Hilton Stockton, CA: http://www.hiltonstockton.com/ was not endorsed by the hotel and was malicious/fake. It mentions free breakfast for all comers, which is not the hotel's policy.

The property informed me they are trying to get the fake site taken down. Oddly, it links to the real HHonors booking engine. I'm not sure why a fake website would do that, but I've seen internet address poaching by webdeveloper/salespeople before. A WHOIS lookup shows that the site is owned by a real estate holding company, which shows the Hilton as one of their assets... and links to yet *another* Hilton Stockton site: http://www.hilton-stockton.pacificahost.com/ - weird.)

The "official" site" http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/cal...THF/index.html has no mention of breakfast and I was told is the "correct" one. (For the record, the Stockton Hilton made things right, and I'm satisfied with my stay there and the management's help.)

I suspect there may also be other hotel-specific websites (perhaps put up by the hotel prior to joining HHonors, put up prior to Hilton website integration, GMs or Property Management/Owners going off on their own and making websites that aren't properly updated, etc.).

While *rates* seem to be the same, as links go to the booking engine pages of official HHonors.com, have any of you found benefits or claims on property-specific websites that differ from the front desk policy or HHonors.com property-pages?

Any other legit property-specific sites that are wonky with info?

Does Hilton corp discourage properties from doing their own pages?
