Although I have not tried to use the SQ lounge at SIN, I did use the SQ lounge at AMS and was disappointed (small, hot, no phones, little food and drink). The lounge agent took great care to record my UA 1K data so that SQ would get reimbursed for my visit! At least she didn't hassle me about using their lounge on a UA ticket.
Back to SIN: The airport has a transit "hotel" that gives you a small hotel room and shower for about US$35.
