This seems a stretch as the employee used a keycard to open the door which would be logged. Could it be as the room wasn't ready at 7pm they had not actually finished the room after keys were given, a miscommunication between front desk and housekeeping. Seems more likely and plausible than the drinks coupon as this was given to be used while the room was prepared before checkin!
