Maybe because that is fresh fruit. (Perhaps an issue of nomenclature, for that most definitely is not
whole fruit) I do sympathise, that nominally speaking peeling and cutting the fruit into convenient, bitesize pieces does make it processed. However, I fail to see the connection with that making it inherently unhealthy.
With you having listed lack of fresh fruit as a negative aspect of the lounge, I have to say I was expecting some of the tinned crap that some other airlines serve. Thankfully that is not the case.
