Confused over whether I'll be earning BA tier points...

Over the past few months I seem to have developed a little addiction to progressing my BA tier, and given I never get to travel with work and I'm not on the biggest of budgets I've been chuffed to even reach bronze!

This weekend I was faced with booking a trip to Sri Lanka and had the option of paying £1k+ per person via BA, or c.£450 per person with SriLankan Airlines. Given the BA site stated the tier points would be earned on all flights with One World partners I went ahead with the cheaper alternative, via Expedia.

However, now I can't find the flights in either my BA or new SriLankan accounts, and I appear to have a new Blue membership with FlySmiles. I was hoping to merge the two accounts at least, but no where can I find a simple explanation of what happens. I've added my BA member number booking to the booking on Expedia but it never seems to flow through. Will my booking with SriLankan help to retain / progress my BA tier level?!

I'm fearing I can only collect BA tier points if I booked the flight through BA...hopefully someone can reassure me to be patient and it'll all be good by the time I fly? I don't want the embarrassment of contacting the other parties now if this is a normal situation!

Thank you all!
