I'm perplexed by the slow process of earning miles on Delta. I just switched from Southwest, with well over 400k miles this year. 24 segments on Delta, with 41k points.
So, I've never considered purchasing points before. However, knowing that 2000 Delta Miles will cost you $70 online is expensive. I just noticed my ability to purchase miles pre-flight as a bonus, with 3000 miles for $59.
Is this worth it? What is the value of Delta Miles?
Sorry if some flyer talkers can be so rude. Reading the rules and program type is quite often a different experience when you actually see the difference in miles in your account and how much it actually costs to redeem those sky miles for a ticket.
Delta has made it so difficult to understand their system for miles and redemption it is not always easy to compare the programs.
I would never buy miles...but that is just me.
