Link from my email is broken. Googling for the contract of carriage gives me this:

It says a 30 minute cutoff time.

That's from the Spain AA website and it appears to be out of date. Here is the first link I get when googling (which gives me the US website) --

"In most locations, you must be checked in:
At least 45 minutes before scheduled departure, for flights within the United States
At least 60 minutes before scheduled departure, for flights to or from airports outside of the United States"
