I think Starwood set a precedent here by not including any free nights that the SPG Amex gives you toward Platinum qualification when they total up your nights for Lifetime status. So IHG could simply not count anything earned by having a credit card.
i was actually referring to the Plat status being lifetime, in effect by holding the US IHG Mastercard.
that's right, IHG are now counting rewards nights towards elite, not RA, so it wld require reverting to not counting to elite.
