IHG has two programs. If they took the 10 year Platinums there would perhaps be far too many. 10 year RA's, probably very few in comparison to other programs. But that's a good enough reason to go ahead and give Lifetime to 10 year RA's. There can't be too many of us and it would drive more business from others who want Lifetime status. Starwood lifetime is 500 nights. Maybe 700 nights for RA Lifetime?
