Best hotel for a 1st timer in HK
I've got a five day trip to HK coming up next month, and I'm trying to decide the best hotel option amoungst the vast choice and looking for some pointers to help me decide please.
Ideally, a 5* hotel, although my budget is limited to around $200 a night max including tax.
Currently I've booked a room in the Cordis in Mongkok, which I plan on upgrading to a Club room nearer the time if I decide to remain there for the view from the higher floor, and the inclusion of breakfast. The reason I chose the Cordis initially was not only price, but it's access to the MTR, and the availability of a smartphone, as mine won't work in HK and the pool. My intention is to spend the days out and about doing the usual tourist hotspots via the MTR and then relaxing in the evenings. I don't drink so close proximity to nightlife isn't of interest to me.
However, I'm wondering if anyone else feels that I would be better for a 1st visit to be closer to the harbor or in Tsim Sha Tsui. If so, can anyone suggest a hotel which can meet the same sort of criteria as the Cordis. If I did move, however, I would prefer a harbour view, which I know comes at a price.
Much appreciate any advice.
