If the former, 10 years would be a minimum of 15,000 TPs (roughly) so you're just under halfway to Lifetime Gold which is good.

However, you could be an overseas account, and thus at circa 8,000 TPs as a minimum.

Bearing in mind there are those who do 8,000 TPs a year for work (not TP runs etc), where should the loyalty boundary be drawn?

Frustrating I'm sure, but as you have already mentioned in your post, there are other airlines you can switch your travel to if you feel they will reward you any differently.

I'm an overseas gold card harder with 13,000 lifetime points, but thats kind of irrelavant, and will make Gold again this year, and not at all bitter as some other poster mentioned. At the end of the day, its an aircraft, where you sit on a seat, mostly J or F for me, hope to do some work, hope to drink some wine, and hope to have some enjoyment. Unfortunately, SKYTRAX whatever anyone says is about right. I have been on most of those in the top 25 the last 5years, and BAs quality is on the slide.. The wines are "cheap" when compared to EK or QR, the inflight entertainment is poor, the 747s, and 777s are getting very dated, not the cleanest of aircraft, the food in J class is bland, but i fly it for its Britishness, although even now if i fly to NYC, i'll always make sure im on AA 777-300 as its a superior J product in every way. Its a shame, British Airways always used to pride itself on being the worlds favourite airline as its slogan, but the cuts are so deep now, and they really don't care that much. My suggestion of a years grace, isnt a bad one, and would actually probably increase revenue for BA, as people would be more inclined to book BA intra europe for the benefit of the lounge, than fly on say Norwegian where you get a nice new 737-800 with working wifi. You are much better off being a one world emerald with Qatar in todays world, they seem to hold on the power. BA golds cant even use the QR First Lounge as an illustration. Why when BA is a founding member, can they allow QR to dictate what they like in oneworld...And i cant even email BA my thoughts i dont think, they dont want to be emailed.
