Me and the wife are in need of new appliances at home (washer/dryer). Costco.com has some on sale. We're looking to spend around $2500. We would both like to knock out all/most of the $1500 quarterly category bonus on our respective Freedom cards. Costco.com reportedly works for the bonus. So far, so good.

But we want to split the payment. And AFAIK, costco.com does not have a provision for splitting payments across multiple credit cards.

However, I believe they do offer the option of applying a Costco Cash Card to on online purchase. Any reason why the following wouldn't work?

I go to my local Costco, and buy a $1000 Costco Cash Card, purchased on my Freedom card. Go home, go to costco.com, order our new appliances. Apply my $1000 Costco Cash Card, and pay the balance on wife's Freedom.

I believe we should both get the bonus (me for the in-warehouse purchase of the cash card, she for the online purchase). Any reason this wouldn't work?
