Hi all,

Just joined the forum but have been reading for quite some time. I am traveling quite a bit this summer and have been renting quite a few cars. I have so far only rented with Avis but Enterprise is coming up significantly cheaper for my trip to SJC in a couple of weeks.

My question is this: I have heard a few stories about Enterprise not honoring rates quoted on their website and simply shrugging when you show up and saying it will actually be more. Something to do with the fact that you can't prepay for Enterprise reservations. Is this true? Or is this just internet BS?

On a side note - I've noticed at all the rental agencies that the rates at the San Jose airport are almost half what the rates are at the neighborhood locations. Very strange.
