As it turns out, the Hertz station at ATH is not 24/7. My flight gets in at 21:30, which adds a fee to the rental because pickup is outside opening hours. No, thank you.
For the total amount at the special A3*G price for the tiniest box on wheels I can simply book two nights of accomodation PLUS a personal driver that takes me from the airport to the accommodation and back, and again to the accommodation and back to the airport a second time.
