Fees for oversized and over-weighed baggage are extremely clear.

In fact, as the maximum allowance is 70lb, the GA can deny checking the baggage for 1.5lb over, as it can pose as a safety issue.

You should thank them for checking it despite going against the policy, as many airlines will deny checking instead.
