Addendum for those who plan to visit Paris:
(1) Good news: Prices were way cheaper than even shown online. And even better now with the Euro tanking.
(2) Bad news: Not every LV location has handbags - some are jewelry only, etc. So do not rely on yelp, google, etc. to identify the location where you will shop. That being said, I think the Champ Elysee store has everything.
(3) Thanks to hordes of Chinese tourists, you will wait in many lines. One line to get in store, one line to buy, one line for personal monogramming, one line for the tax rebate ... you get the picture. So don't plan to be in and out in 15m as would be the case at any high class retailer in the USA.
(4) Don't forget the substantial VAT savings - and remember to get your receipt stamped BEFORE YOU GO THROUGH SECURITY at CDG.
Oh, and the best part was that we declared our purchases to US customs on arrival (or rather checked the box on the Global Entry screen which then flagged our declaration) but the customs official was only interested in the food items (in this case chocolate). So we paid $0 duty!
