AFAIK it is the other way round - ANDAZ was the answer to the W Hotels of SPG (the Andaz as we know it today is only a few years old) .... even though they (IMHO) refined the product and made it "better", at least amongst those within the NYC area.
Fair point, I didn't know which was older but my overall point is the same in that I believe them to be fair comparables.
