I thought the same. I think that I was buying most of this until I read that the wine and the beer were unchilled - and then came the remark in Part 5.
I would very much like to have been present to witness both sides of what took place, that there was a delay out of BCN at this time of year is par for the course. With 52 people in Club - running a beverage service when you could get the "go" at any moment is something of a challenge but it is not impossible.
Since the OP clearly pays his own fares, I'd do as his wife says and fly another carrier as clearly BA failed to meet his expectations.
