China Airlines Flight Cancellation

Dear Flyers,

My flight on China airlines was cancelled due to the strike on 25 June. I had to spend an extra night at my hotel and buy a new ticket with another airline. No Big Deal but
CI has created a website for individual passengers to register and claim compensation. Which is abit strange since shoudnt they be the onces contacting me?
anyhow I tried to register all my details, but after doing this, the system reports an error, "passenger name not found" How bizarre ? So I try calling the hotline and they cant help, only want me to leave my contact details, I get a promise that after a week someone will call me back.
After 7 days nothing, no call back or email. So again I call and explain everything.
Again they promise me but this time, they say I should simply try to register on the website again after a few days.
I dunno but are they just trying to make Life difficult for their passengers. This was my first flight with CI so I have no experience with them.
So my question is, has any other passenger successfully claimed compensation on CI website?
