A "consolidator ticket" is short-hand for a ticket that was purchased by a bulk consolidator which purchased a large number of seats at a very deep discount and then resells them to individuals such as OP at a markup which represents a profit to the bulk consolidator but still a substantial discount to the passenger.
Unlike standard TA-issued tickets which shift to carrier control after the first segment is flown, that may not be the case here and OP should not count on anybody fixing the ticket for him at any point.
If this is a mistake fare, DOT has made it clear that there won't be a penalty here. OP can cancel for a refund (simply chargeback the ticket if there is a problem with that) or pay up to the proper ticketed amount to "fix" it.
BTW - As a mileage run on a consolidator ticket, are you certain that you will be earning on this ticket?
