App to Organize Trip on an Offline Map
I am the type of person who likes to plan out all the details of a trip, especially when it comes to directions because I don't enjoy getting lost. For example, I would circle all the places I wanted to visit on a printed map, and then draw lines connecting the places to figure out the optimal order to visit them all. I would also label the lines with directions, such as which bus to take and which stop to get off, so that I can travel on "auto-pilot". Does anyone here do this too?
Ideally, I would like an app that lets me download a specific region, "stick" things and lines on the map, and schedule the times to visit each place. Unfortunately, I could only find online solutions. I wanted offline maps that didn't require downloading an entire state.
Therefore, I wrote my own app (Android only), which I would like to share in hopes that other people will find it useful. The app is free, there are no ads, and no login is required. Currently, itineraries can be saved as a pdf file, and annotated maps can be shared as a zip file (using import/export). Please let me know if such an app will be useful to you. Cheers!
