I posed this on the Emirates section but they suggested I post it here where it's more relevant

I 'discovered' a new route to use on Emirates

Boston -- > Mauritius via Dubai with 1 stop over allowing me to visit Dubai.

But the fuel charges are quite high.

The other alternative is to book via Alaskan A. (But fly on Emirates)

My issue is that.

1. I have zero miles on Alaskan. I could start signing up for BofA Alaskan

2. Transfer my Amex MR to Emirates and eat the fuel charges since there is no transfer from MR to Alaskan

My question is Are there any way to accumulate Alaskan Points ? Or have a intermediate transfer partner ?
